Kalen Morrow, B.A., Senior GIS Analyst and Program Manager
Kalen is a physical geographer and GIS Analyst whose formal training is in Geographic Information Systems (Advanced Diploma, Selkirk College, 2004) and Physical Geography (B.A., University of Manitoba, 2000).
After joining CORI in 2006 Kalen has spent the ensuing years leading ShoreZone aerial video surveys on over 25,000 kilometers of coastline from northern British Columbia to the Chukchi Sea in Alaska. Back in the office he spends his time constructing, managing and analysing the ever growing ShoreZone geospatial dataset. Other projects he has worked on include the development of a web application to assist spill response operations, GIS models to identify potential impacts on subsistence resource use and he has conducted Seabed Imaging surveys using a towed video camera to map near-shore environments.
Prior to coming to CORI he was with Parks Canada, providing GIS support for Banff, Kootenay and Yoho National Parks.
